Uma Tentativa de Homogeneizar os Dados Gravimétricos Existentes no Brasil

Nelsi Côgo de Sá, Denizar Blitzkow

Abstract

The Woollard Gravity Network (WGN) was the base for all gravity surveys in Brazil up to the officialization of the International Gravity Standardization Net 1971 (IGSN71). The mean difference between gravity values in common stations, in a global sense, is approximately 14 mGal. However, this value varies significantly from one region to another in the world. A total of 97 stations in Brazil, whose gravity values are referred to both systems, are used here to estimate the correction to be applied in the gravity networks established in Brazil before 1971. The results indicate that a correction of - 15.0 mGal must be applied to all data referred to the WGN to make them consistent with the IGSN71 system.
