Consultant in Fluid Mechanics, Hydrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Flow-Induced Vibration, Bioengineering and Aeroacoustics. He is currently a Full Professor (MS6) at the Mechanical Engineering Department, EPUSP. He was a Research Associate in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College (1995, United Kingdom). At EPUSP, he develops activities in the research lines of numerical methods applied to fluid dynamics and experiments in fluids. Specialist in aerodynamics and hydrodynamics of bluff bodies, vortex shedding, flow-induced vibration, vortex-induced noise and computational fluid dynamics.
Scientific and Executive Director of the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation RCGI (FAPESP-SHELL). He was the creator of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (CFD Lab) and the Experimental Fluid-Dynamics and Anemometry Laboratory. Member of the Fluid and Dynamics Research Group (NDF). He is the author or co-author of more than 175 articles published in International Journals, such as Book Chapters and International and National Conference Proceedings.
