The event will rely on the participation of specialists from Brazil and elsewhere, who will discuss several topics, including mitigation of risks from seismic activities (what has been done and the knowledge that has been derived), best practices from other locations, and subjects indicated by researchers and the Brazilian regulatory body (IBAMA) that are lacking understanding, such as the acoustic impact from seismic operations on marine life and the chronic effects of these activities. Such subjects are directly related with the present understanding that establishes a limit of 60km between simultaneous seismic operations. Besides this, we will discuss marine seismic acquisition technologies that address environmental issues, such as seismic sources and more efficient, faster, seismic operations. We envision that after the workshop documents on these subjects will be prepared with the participation of institutions nominated as the target audience and, possibly, that studies and/or tests would be identified as needed to advance these objectives.
O evento contará com a participação de especialistas do Brasil e do exterior, que abordarão: mitigação das atividades sísmicas (o que já foi feito, conhecimentos extraídos), boas práticas de outros lugares; temas apontados por pesquisadores e órgão regulador (IBAMA) como carentes de entendimento/estudo, como o impacto acústico provocado por operações sísmicas na vida marinha e o efeito crônico destas atividades. Tais temas têm estreita relação com o entendimento atual que estabelece um limite de 60 km entre operações sísmicas simultâneas. Além disto, abordaremos tecnologias de aquisição marítima, essencialmente relacionadas à fonte sísmica, que endereçam às questões ambientais, como operações sísmicas mais eficientes (em menos tempo). Propõe-se que, ao final, documentos que tratem dos temas sejam elaborados com a participação das instituições apontadas no público alvo e, potencialmente, sejam apontados estudos e/ou testes identificados como necessários.
